My experience as a SLEO Class II in Stone Harbor was very rewarding. The training I received while at the Cape May County Police Academy was very educational and made me much more marketable when I was attempting full time employment as a police officer. The skills I learned and the practical experiance as a SLEO Two gave me the opportunity to prove my ability as a police officer. Following one summer as a SLEO I was hired as a full time police officer. I believe that the SLEO Two Program is an excellent stepping stone for someone looking to start a career in law enforcement.

I went through the SLEO Two program in the spring of 2000. I enjoyed working the summer in the City of Wildwood. I handled all kinds of police calls from domestic violence complaints, thefts, drug offenses, fights, to civil complaints. I worked the entire summer in a squad car with my partner who was a full time police officer. The experience I gained and education I received clearly made this the best decision I have ever made. I was recently hired as a full time police officer and attribute this experience my ability to be hired so rapidly.
