The Cape May County Police Academy requires recruits to learn how to defend themselves various self-defense systems including PPCT System of Defensive Tactics, aikido, judo, control holds and boxing. The boxing program under the direction of Jack Trombetta and Frank Gieger is extremely well controlled to avoid injuries yet still allowing the recruit the experience of defending one self in a very active confrontational situation. Here recruit's limitations are explored and knowledge gained to assist them in developing the best approach to defend themselves and control aggressive persons.
