The Cape May County Police Memorial honors those heroes who have given the ultimate sacrifice while defending and assisting the citizens of Cape May County. The memorial was built with donations from the local police officers and the Chiefs of Police Association of Cape May County. The Memorial is presently located on the grounds of the Police Academy. The large black marble stone has the names of the five officers engraved from Cape May County who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Each year, during National Police Week, the Cape May County Chiefs of Police Association hold a Memorial Service for these officers. The Chiefs have vowed never to forget the sacrifices made by these officers and their families. Their memories will not only be etched on the Cape May County Police Memorial, but also in the minds of every officer and new police recruit that is trained at the academy. The next memorial service at the Cape May County Police Officers Memorial will be held on May 17, 2001 during National Police Officers Week.

The site of the Police Memorial is located at the very front of the academy overlooking a pond located on the grounds. The area will be landscaped with trees and bushes and will be surrounded by the American Flag, the New Jersey State Flag and the Cape May County Flag. This will allow the Police Memorial to be open not only to the police officers attending the courses at the academy, but also the citizens and visitors to Cape May County.
